  • Please feel free to park in any of the following:

    • The small lot directly in front of the building (Hilton Rd)

    • Across the street on northbound (Hilton Rd)

    • On the side street north of us (Sylvan Ave)

    • The side street directly across from us (Moorhouse St)

  • While most classes are suited for all skill levels, Kickboxing: Essentials is the perfect place to start learning the footwork and striking fundamentals. If you’re interested in Martial Arts in general, our MKG Blend class is also a popular choice for first-timers.

  • Our 6PM training sessions Tuesday - Friday are among the most exciting workouts you’ll find in Metro Detroit! Appropriate for all fitness and experience levels, our Kickboxing: Conditioning and/or MMA Fitness Circuit Training classes are a safe, fun, and approachable way to get into great shape with this practice.

  • Very — training is done responsibly and in a controlled environment with students’ comfort levels in mind. Everything we do can be amended to suit any specific concerns or needs you have.

    As a standard practice, we ask that all students read and sign a waiver before beginning their journey at Boombox.

  • First time? No worries! Limited rental supplies are available for use during class.

    Just bring yourself, water, and comfortable clothes.

    Most people train barefoot or in socks, though we do have a matted area available for those who choose to train in indoor-only shoes. We do require outdoor shoes to be removed upon arrival.

  • While Boombox Kickboxing & Martial Arts does not have a traditional uniform protocol, we ask that outdoor shoes are not worn on the mats at this time. We do have a large section of mats where indoor-only gym shoes can be worn if that is your preference. Generally speaking, feel free to wear clothes you’re comfortable working out and stretching in.

  • Yes — for interested parties, there is a formal rank and testing system in place.

  • No — with strong emphasis on self-development, the Boombox community encourages everyone to go at their own pace. Please let your training partner(s) know if you need any adjustments to the training, and they will be happy to accommodate.

  • No — while our scheduled programs are educated in part by combat sports, Boombox does not currently train for or participate in competitive settings.
