MARTIAL ARTS OF THE PHILLIPINES

Kali-Escrima

Discover the eclectic and rewarding world of martial art weaponry training. Arguably the oldest and longest-standing example of martial artistry in mankind’s history, “weapons” training at Boombox showcases the methods of traditional warrior cultures in a way that is relevant and relatable to the modern mind.

Known as “Kali”, “Escrima”, and “Arnis”, the training methods of the Filipino warrior cultures serve as the backbone of our weaponry mix and include training with:

  • Swords

  • Knives

  • Clubs/Sticks

  • “Weapons of opportunity”

Additional cultural and functional cross-training modules include multiple sub-styles of Filipino martial arts, and cross-training in traditional Thai weaponry, Indonesian and Bruneian machete, and examples of Italian and Spanish Fencing influence.
